Orion Sound Studios is a rehearsal and recording studio located in Baltimore, Maryland. Celebrating our 15th year of serving Baltimore's music community, we offer a variety of services including 30 safe and secure rehearsal studios available on a monthly basis, a 24-track digital recording studio, a 24-track live showcase studio, a 1000 square foot rehearsal room available for nightly rehearsals or for touring bands, and a 40-track mobile recording rig. BAND REHEARSAL ROOM AVAILABILITY

I do have a few rooms becoming available over the month or so. Currently available is room # 117, which is pretty small at about 11x14 feet, and rents for $325 a month. Room 303, which is about 15x20 feet, rents for $410 a month. On or around the first of September room #319 should be available - it is the largest room I have, is conveniently located right next to the bay doors, has two windows, and is about 18x20 feet in size. The room rents for $440 a month. Also the very smallest room I have should become available around the beginning of September. Room 116 is about 9x11 feet and rents for $310 a month. I do have a waiting list to work through and am currently making calls to that list. If you're on the list feel free to call me for updates.
The rent for all rooms includes electric, heat, A/C, alarm system with 24-hour monitoring, bay door access for load in-out, and plenty of paved parking that is quickly plowed in the winter.
As an alternative it may make sense for your band to use our hourly rehearsal room, which rents for $60 for a 4-hour session. The room is about 32 feet square, with 16-foot ceilings. There is a small PA included which is adequate for vocals and includes mics, stands, and so on. Sadly, no backline is provided so that means you need to haul your gear. But then you could look at it this way; hauling gear is a lot of what you'll be doing when you play out! What better way to stay in shape while simultaneously learning to keep your band's gig equipment list as lean as possible?

How it works:
Typically you would load your gear in on a Friday afternoon/evening. We would get everything mic'ed up and ready for recording starting on Saturday morning. Then we would record all day Saturday (11-ish to 7-ish) and all day Sunday (noon to 7-ish). You could then pick a couple of evenings during the following week for mix-down sessions. While this outline is "typical" its certainly not the only scenario possible. Depending on what other projects are currently in-house we can be very flexible.
